COLLABORATIONS

UGLYBIRD has been fortunate to collaborate with some fantastic people, including choreographers, photographers and graphic designers.

EMILY DOBSON

​

Emily is a dance artist based in the South West, she graduated  from Bretton Hall University in 2001 and now works nationally across the UK and Northern Ireland. She has toured nationally and internationally with Cscape Dance, Kneehigh Theatre, Assault Events and Attik Dance. Performance work has taken her from Battersea Arts Centre, the Spoleto Festival U.S.A and the Asylum with Kneehigh Theatre to village halls, clubs, gardens, city centres, beaches and speed boats. She has performed in and co-choreographed numerous outdoor site based productions across the South-West on land and sea, also working extensively delivering technique class, education and project based work for organisations including The Hall for Cornwall, Ulster University and TR2 (Theatre Royal, Plymouth).

She collaborates with musicians, photographers and filmmakers to create her independent work. Her dance for camera work has toured to Budapest and Russia as part of the Artkino Film Festival. She has recently choreographed Everywhen, a music video directed by Brett Harvey (o-region) for Bafta Award winning Australian singer songwriter Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo released in July. Emily co-leads Freefall Dance, a company based in Falmouth that works with it’s partners Falmouth University and The Works to deliver high quality opportunities to train and perform contemporary dance. She has been an Associate Lecturer of Dance at Falmouth University for three years and is an Associate Artist of Cscape Dance.

Kelvin Archer is currently studying Marine and Natural History Photography at Falmouth University. Being an avid lover of film photography for many years he is influenced by Alfred Eisenstaedt, Eddie Adams,Robert Capa,David Turnley, Robin Moyer and Tim Hetherington. His style focuses on intimate photojournalistic imagery, however often works with each client to help create their desired result. Kelvin Archer is currently studying Marine and Natural History Photography at Falmouth University. Sam Morris is a Graphic designer based in the South West, currently studying graphic design at falmouth University he hopes to pursue a career in this field. He enjoys collaborating with other arts fields also, working on a client to client basis. He aims to be flexible and diverse working across different fields and styles, although he specialises in branding and typography. Sam worked collaboratively with UGLYBIRD to design their corporate identify, and hopes to continue this relationship in the future.
